dk's commitment to quality in design, training, manufacture, installation and service, began in 1995 when Danish born and educated Jakob Gamborg and Preben Lemming decided to create something new: a kitchen design and installation company that would combine the best of Danish craftsmanship and European design trends, using only the best hardware and accessories, suited to the individual needs of customers and the Australian way of life.

dk began in small, rented, premises in a laneway off Pittwater Rd, where Jakob and Preben designed, manufactured and installed everything themselves. By investing all profits back into the business and implementing quality as a core commitment, dk has grown to a state of the art workshop and two showrooms, a staff of over twenty and a large team of trade sub-contractors.

By making every cabinet in their own workshop dk are able to have absolute control over product quality. The two showooms at 19 Orlando Rd Cromer and 528 Military Rd Mosman display a range of elegant dk designed and made kitchens featuring the latest hardware accessories (such as cupboard handles and runners) from Italy, Austria, Germany and Scandinavia. In each showroom dk's client service designers can demonstrate the user friendly benefits of dk's unique designs. As well they can show through
3D computer modelling on computer screens possible kitchen designs, uniquely tailored to each client's individual needs. Jakob says, "We are proud of our team approach to quality. It has made possible both our continuing success and our ability to guarantee the quality of each kitchen for 10 years."
